Top seven SEC quarterbacks who are on the list are as follows:

1. Garrett Nussmeier – LSU

Nussmeier led the Tigers to a 9-4 record in 2024, and heading into the 2025 season, he is touted as the best quarterback alongside Arch Manning.

Last season, he completed 64.2 percent of passes for 4,043 yards, 29 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. He has handled LSU well after the departure of former Heisman winner and Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels.

2. Arch Manning – Texas

Arch Manning's name was always going to appear on this list. Manning carries high upside since he committed to the Texas Longhorns, and while he had to wait for his turn behind Quinn Ewers at Texas, the time has finally arrived for him to carry forward the family's rich legacy of producing elite quarterbacks.

3. Austin Simmons – Ole Miss

Jaxson Dart has departed for the NFL, paving the way for Austin Simmons to take the reins at Ole Miss. He red-shirted his freshman season and got limited action last year, throwing for 282 yards and two touchdowns.

Simmons has a strong platform for growth this season under head coach Lane Kiffin.

4. Ty Simpson – Alabama

While it's not official just yet, Ty Simpson will be starting quarterback for Kalen DeBoer's side in Alabama. After playing backup to Jalen Milroe for two years, the time has finally come for Simpson to shine under the brightest lights of Tuscaloosa.

5. Gunner Stockton – Georgia

After Carson Beck went down with an elbow injury in the SEC Championship game against the Texas Longhorns, Gunner Stockton threw for 72 yards and an interception in Georgia's 22-19 overtime win.

Now that Beck has transferred to Miami, Stockton has a clear path to help Kirby Smart get back to the national championship game.

6. LaNorris Sellers – South Carolina

Sellers has quickly become a fan favorite in Columbia. He led the Gamecocks to an 8-3 record in 2024, throwing 172 of 265 passes for 2274 yards, 17 touchdowns and seven interceptions.

He also rushed for 655 yards and seven scores. The dual-threat quarterback was the SEC Freshman of the Year last season.

7. John Mateer – Oklahoma

Mateer has entered the SEC picture after transferring to Oklahoma from Washington State ahead of the 2025 season. He led the Huskies to an 8-4 record in 2024, throwing 64.6 percent of his passes for 3139 yards, 29 touchdowns and seven interceptions. He also had 15 rushing scores.

Due to Mateer's presence, the Sooners are considered a dark horse to make the College Football Playoff out of the SEC.
