Wake Forest football coach Dave Clawson will enter his 11th season with the program in 2024. However, he will be under pressure after leading the Demon Deacons to an underwhelming 4-8 record last season.
Clawson has to make an important decision on his starting quarterback for the upcoming season and is yet to announce Wake Forest's QB1. Furthermore, no quarterbacks will represent the team at this year's ACC Media Day event on Wednesday.
Predicting Dave Clawson's starting quarterback at Wake Forest in 2024
As things stand, Hank Bachmeier is predicted to take the starting quarterback role at Wake Forest for the 2024 season. The signal-caller transferred to the Demon Deacons after playing last season with Louisiana Tech.

Notably, Bachmeier is entering his sixth year in college football. He began his collegiate career at Boise State and played four seasons with the Broncos.
During his lone season at Louisiana Tech, Bachmeier racked up 2,058 yards and 10 touchdowns on 182 passes across nine games. Throughout his career, the quarterback has recorded 8,663 passing yards on 718 passes with 51 touchdowns.
Bachmeier certainly has years of experience on his side and is a reliable option. He could be the man coach Dave Clawson turns to in 2024.
Last season, Mitch Griffis was the starting quarterback for Wake Forest until he was benched for Michael Kern in November.
Griffis played 10 games last year and racked up 1,553 passing yards, nine touchdowns and seven interceptions, while rushing for 128 yards and two touchdowns. He later entered the transfer portal and committed to Marshall.
Meanwhile, Kern threw for 647 yards and four touchdowns in four games, but the freshman couldn't get a win under his belt. He is likely to serve as Bachmeier's backup in the 2024 season.
Since Wake Forest didn't even qualify for a bowl game, coach Clawson needed to make some changes heading into the 2024 season.
Apart from Bachmeier and Kern, Wake Forest also has Charlie Gilliam in its quarterback department.
