PSL 3 saw the last three games of the tournament being played in Pakistan. It was a welcome move as the cricket hungry nation got to experience their favorite tournament and favorite local and international stars in their own home ground.

On June 12, 2018, the PCB and all the franchises involved in the event held a meeting to decide whether it was a good idea to hold the entire fourth edition of the PSL in Pakistan. After much consideration, the idea was shelved as the board didn’t want to take a giant leap after the success of PSL 3.

On September 15, the newly elected Chairman of the PCB Ehsan Mani announced that the tournament will begin in the UAE on February 14, 2019, and the final match of the event will be played over a month later in Karachi on March 17.

He also revealed that the last matches of the tournament, and not only the final, will be held in Pakistan. Even though the names of the cities which will host PSL matches in Pakistan was not revealed, it is safe to assume that Lahore, Peshawar, and Multan will make the list with Karachi.
