England captain Joe Root said on Wednesday that his side's outstanding record at Edgbaston "counts for nothing" on the eve of the First Test match in the Ashes series, which starts at the Birmingham venue on Thursday.
England boast a fine record at Edgbaston - they have won their last 11 matches in all formats there, including the semi-final of the World Cup against Australia earlier this month.
