Chris Gayle lashes out at former players who proved themselves to be hypocrites

Chris Gayle has said he will return to Australia

Chris Gayle has had a very eventful Big Bash League season, and he has saved his biggest killer blows for the very end. After smashing a 12-ball fifty on Monday, the world record for the fastest fifty, Gayle signed off from the BBL with a stinging social media rant against his critics.

Gayle claimed in his post that there were several players who had criticised him in public, but had spoken to him in person saying that they felt the outrage over his act was overblown. The issue at hand from where all this stems from is the TV interview in which Gayle had inappropriately propositioned Mel McLaughlin.

After Gayle’s ‘Don’t blush baby’ to the female presenter had polarised the world on whether he had crossed the line or whether too much was being made out of nothing, he had been fined $10,000.

Following the on-field controversy, former players like Freddie Flintoff, Chris Rogers and Ricky Ponting were among those who had said that Gayle had made himself look foolish.

Gayle posted a picture of himself celebrating after scoring a double century during the 2015 Cricket World Cup, saying: “The real ppl who stand by Gayle worldwide through the so call BS against me in the media, Thank You!

“I think a lot of past and present cricketers who smile in front my face could've have their say in public when my so call issue was going on. But y'all don't have the BALLs to stand firm when it matters - but yet when u see me you're like, Chris that's BS against you, it was blown out of proportion. Smh(shake my head). Don't tell me, tell the media and public!”

Gayle also took pot shots at specific players. “The past cricketer who say I make myself look like a chop, the other who claim I was no good to the youngsters while playing for the thunder, the next one who said he expect that sort of behaviour from Chris - Y'all can kiss my 'Black Rass,” Gayle wrote.

Here’s how we turned Gayle’s rant into a rap song:

The three cricketers he refers to are Freddie Flintoff, Chris Rogers and Ricky Ponting specifically.

Gayle had made a half-hearted apology after the uproar that had been started after his indiscretion, but made it apparently clear that his heart was not it. Whatever that can be said about his sense of propriety, Gayle’s sense of timing is second to none – he brought out his rant only hours after he had come up with one of the most dashing knocks ever.
