For MS Dhoni it was his first training session as he led a small group of players including Ambati Rayudu, M Vijay, Karn Sharma, and new recruit Piyush Chawla onto the Chepauk grounds in Chennai. His team, IPL 2019 runners up, will play the first match of the new season on March 29 against previous winners Mumbai Indians at Mumbai.
A few thousand fans witnessed Dhoni and his team-mates sweating it out. Three stands were thrown open to spectators, and Chennai welcomed him back.
