Triumph Knights Mumbai North East bounced back from a recent reversal in style to thump ARCS Andheri by seven wickets to jump to second position in the inaugural T20 Mumbai League standings on Wednesday night.

The Suryakumar Yadav-led side bowled out ARCS Andheri for a paltry 116 after opting to field first and then achieved the target to in just 15.3 overs to register their second win in three games in the competition.

ARCS Andheri were off to a decent start when the opening combination of Tanmay Mishra (16) and Doraiswamy Subramanian (49) added 36 runs for the first wicket in just 5 overs. But that’s when Triumph Knights slow bowlers began to spin a web around the opposition batsmen with Parikshit Valsangkar foxing Mishra into playing a false shot and wicket-keeper Sumit Ghadigaonkar making no mistake with the stumping.

Left-arm spinner Vinayak Bhoir then joined the party as he claimed three wickets for just 14 runs and was well supported by Kalpesh Sawant (2/22) as they ran through the ARCS Andheri middle order.

Apart from Subramanium, only skipper Iqbal Abdulla put up a semblance of fight as he made 27 runs off 27 balls to take his team beyond the 100 run mark.

However, that never looked enough as Triumph Knights openers Ghadigaonkar (32) and Shashank Singh (63) raced to 70 runs in just 7.5 overs. And though, the opposition managed to take a couple of quick wickets after breaking that partnership, the match result was always a foregone conclusion.
