The Andhra Premier League 2024 season witnessed a major shift in its points table following the double-header on July 8 at the Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy ACA-VDCA Cricket Stadium in Visakhapatnam.
While Uttarandhra Lions outclassed Vizag Warriors by 14 runs in a high-scoring duel, Rayalaseema Kings kept the winless Bezawada Tigers down by 38 runs to claim the top spot on the six-team ladder.
Uttarandha Lions displaced Vizag Warriors from the top of the standings by defeating them in the first match of the day. With three wins from four wins, their NRR stands at a healthy 1.194.
Unfortunately for the Lions, their top spot was snatched away by Rayalaseema Kings in the evening through their 38-run trouncing of Bezawada Tigers. After the conclusion of the double-header of July 8, the Rayalaseema Kings find themselves at the top with 16 points from five games, while the Lions are comfortably placed at number two with 12 points from four outings.

Vizag Warriors, having started the day at number one, slipped to number three owing to their latest defeat. Coastal Riders remained unchanged at number four with two wins and two defeats from four fixtures, while Godavari Titans’ troubles worsened by succumbing to their third defeat of the season.
Bezawada Tigers, on the other hand, continue to remain winless after four attempts to occupy the final spot on the points table.
Uttarandhra Lions, Rayalaseema Kings take top glory on one-sided day
