Norway defeated Germany and Sweden upstaged Gibraltar in the two Group B matches of the triple-header day on July 11 at Krefeld’s Bayer Uerdingen Cricket Ground.
In the third and only Group A match of the day and the 14th overall of the ongoing ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Sub Regional Europe Qualifier B, Switzerland ravaged Serbia by 40 runs at the same venue.
In terms of Group A standings, Switzerland’s win helped them register their opening points of the tournament. Unbeaten Jersey (three wins) and Croatia (two wins) continue to occupy the top two spots on the Group A points table with an NRR of 7.333 and 1.025 respectively.
Switzerland jumped on par with Belgium, considering both teams have registered a win each from three attempts. However, Belgium’s NRR of -1.874 places them above fourth-placed Switzerland (-2.318). Serbia, owing to their third defeat in as many matches, languishes at the bottom of the five-team standings.

As far as Group B is concerned, Norway extended their winning streak to three matches to take the top spot on the points ladder. Hosts Germany, meanwhile, take the second spot for falling 11 runs short of Norway’s total in their third match of the competition.
Sweden opened their account by piling on Gibraltar’s winless misery to take the third spot with an NRR of 0.782. Slovenia lost a rung to slip to number four owing to their negative NRR of 2.483. Gibraltar, yet to secure a single win, rounds up the top five at the bottom of the table.

Norway, Sweden, Switzerland claim one-sided wins in triple-header
Norway bundled out for 162 in 19.4 overs, with Khizer Ahmed and Ali Saleem top-scoring with 40 and 38 runs respectively. For Germany, fast bowler Fayaz Khan picked up a sizzling five-fer to claim figures of 5/19 from four overs.
Later in the game, Fayaz Khan also clubbed 64 runs from 35 balls to headline his team’s run-chase. Despite Fayaz’s all-round brilliance, Germany folded up for just 151 to lose by 11 runs, courtesy of match-defining three-fers from Norway bowlers Sher Sahak (3/18) and Qamar Mushtaque (3/19).
In the second match of the day, Sweden walloped winless Gibraltar by eight wickets and with nearly 11 overs to spare. Sweden bowlers Abdul Naser Baluch (2/11), Prashant Shukla (2/16), and Sami Rahmani (2/14) collectively restricted Gibraltar to just 99/9 from 20 overs before openers Ajay Mundra (42 runs from 19 balls) and Imal Zuwak (45 from 23 balls) steered them to victory in a clinical run-chase.
In the only Group A match of the triple-header event, Switzerland made 146/9 from 20 overs off the back of a calculated 34 from Idrees Ul Haque and a quickfire 25 from Abdullah Rana. As many as four Sweden bowlers picked up two wickets each, with captain Mark Pavlovic and Luka Woods headlining the act with figures of 2/12 and 2/13 respectively.
In the second half of the game, Abdullah Rana’s three-fer and timely breakthroughs from Ashwin Vinod, Ali Nayyer, Faheem Nazir, and Aneesh Kumar helped Switzerland secure a 40-run win over Sweden (106 all out).
