The decision to win the toss and bat first proved to be positive for the Ossudu Accord Warriors. They piled up a first-inning total of 251/7 against the Mahe Megalo Strikers in the first match of the day. Jashwanth Shreeram (56 off 41) provided stability at the top order for the Warriors. However, it was Jayasundram Karthikeyan’s blazing 43-ball 89 that was the talk of the match.

Batting at no. 4, Karthikeyan’s innings was laced with eight boundaries and six maximums, scoring his runs at a strike rate of 206.97. Cameos from Krishna Pandey (36 off 12) and Satish Jangir (17 off 6) further down the order helped the Ossudu-based franchise pile up a massive first-inning total. Kamaleeshwaran Ambikapathy (3/64) and Sreeraj (2/39) ended as the highest wicket-taker for the Mahe Megalo Strikers.

A batting display powered by teamwork got the Mahe Megalo Strikers close to their required target. However, they could only manage to score 232/7 in 20 overs, handing the Accord Warriors a 19-run victory.

Ragavan Ramamoorthy (69 off 30) and skipper Fabid Ahmed (47 off 26) top-scored for the Strikers. Meanwhile, Sidak Singh (3/42), Mohammed Safeequddin (2/24) and Krishna Pandey (2/45) were the top bowling performers for the Warriors.

The second game of the day saw Villianur Mohit Kings batters P Akash (60 off 32) and Aman Khan (84 off 40) top score for their side. Their knocks helped them put up a score of 215/6 against the White Town Giants. Both these batters shared a total of 11 maximums between them while batting at a strike rate of 187.50 and 210, respectively.

Chaing 216 was always going to be an uphill task. That did prove to be the case as the White Town Giants were restricted for 161/8 in 20 overs. R Ragupathy (30 off 19) and Sunil Bishnoi (51 off 28) top scored for their team but in vain.
