Panthers posted a 173-run target for six wickets against the unbeaten Tuskers in the first half. N Zeeshan led the batting lineup with an impressive 46-ball 63-run knock backed by skipper Nitin V’s 39 (21) and Mohan R’s 37(32) while the rest were dismissed in single digits. Krishnakumar S was the pick of the Tuskers bowlers with a four-fer.
In reply, Tuskers started well with a 55-run opening partnership with Virendra Chauhan, scoring 44 off 30. The No. 3 batter Ujwal Gowda played an unbeaten innings of 62 runs off 39 to guide his side to a comfortable six-wicket win. Karan Kannan took two wickets for the Panthers while Thivagar Gopal and Jullian Jacab picked up one each.
In the second game, Sharks registered a narrow victory against the Lions. Batting first, they had set a target of 152 runs with George Samuel and Maria M top-scoring 27 runs each. Vikas Gupta also contributed 24 runs to the team’s total.
In reply, the Lions struggled hard and lost nine wickets while chasing. However, despite Gajender Tanwar’s 35 and Premraj Rajavelu’s 24, they fell short by four runs.
