In the first semifinal, Somerset batted first and stacked up 334/4 from 50 overs. Lewis Goldsworthy at number three scored an unbeaten 115 from 86 balls after the 91-run opening stand between George Thomas and half-centurion Andrew Umeed. James Rew also hit a rapid 71 to outmaneuver Roman Walker’s two-wicket threat. Captain Sean Dickson and number six batter Ben Green scored 35 runs between them off just 17 balls to lead Somerset’s death-overs fury.

Chasing 335 for a spot in the finals, Leicestershire batters fought valiantly but to no avail as they eventually 23 runs short of their target. Ian Holland and Ben Cox hit well-made 40s, while Leicestershire’s Australian import Peter Handscomb slammed an 86-ball 111. For Somerset, Ben Green picked up three top-order wickets before Josh Davey and Kasey Aldridge sealed the deal for their team by accumulating four wickets between them.

Colin Ingram and Billy Root belted counter-attacking 40s while unbeaten Dan Douthwaite top-scored in the innings through his 35-ball 55. Timm van der Gugten also chipped in with 26 runs during the slog overs for Glamorgan. Warwickshire’s Ed Barnard unfurled the spell of the innings with figures of 4/34 from his 10 overs. Remarkably, Barnard claimed each of Glamorgan’s top four batters.
