Northern Supercharges defeated Southern Brave by seven wickets in match eight of The Hundred Men’s 2024 season in Leeds on Tuesday, July 30.
Captain James Vince became the first wicket to fall in the Southern Brave innings after winning the toss and opting to bat first. He scored 19 runs off 12 balls and shared a swift 32-run opening stand with partner Alex Davies (28 off 20 balls). James Coles (26 off 13 balls) and Kieron Pollard (37 off 22 balls) also made valuable contributions as the Southern Brave concluded their innings at 146/8 in 100 balls.
For the Northern Superchargers, each of the six-utilised bowlers picked up at least a wicket, with Callum Parkinson taking two while conceding 38 runs off 20 deliveries. The other wicket-takers were Jordan Clark (1/22), Matthew Potts (1/28), Mitchell Santner (1/35), Adil Rashid (1/19) and Matthew Short (1/4).
Chasing 147, explosive number three batter Nicholas Pooran scored a 34-ball 62 after the early dismissal of Matthew Short to Jofra Archer (1/19). Pooran clubbed four boundaries and five sixes and shared a 49-run stand with Graham Clark (27 off 20 balls) and another 50-run stand with captain Harry Brook.
Brook himself scored 34* off 20 balls and smacked the winning hit for the Northern Superchargers with seven wickets and 15 balls to spare.
The Hundred Men's 2024 Most Runs List
Tom Banton remains the only batter of The Hundred Men’s 2024 season to have scored over 100 runs. Topping the run-scoring list, the explosive Trent Rockets batter is followed by Liam Dawson (81 runs), James Vince (75 runs), Nicholas Pooran (72 runs), and Jacob Bethell (65 runs).
Sam Hain with 61 runs and Andre Russell with 50 runs find themselves ranked at number six and seven, respectively. Ben Howell has made 48 runs from two innings so far to occupy the eighth position, and he is followed by Daniel Hughes (45 runs) and Graham Clark (44 runs) to complete the top 10.

Adam Zampa, with six wickets courtesy of twin three-fers in two games, has emerged as the most successful bowler of The Hundred Men’s 2024 season so far. Welsh Fire’s David Willey has snapped five wickets from two games and occupies the second rank.
Sean Abbott, Tim Southee, and Jake Ball have all collected four wickets each to round out the top five bowlers
Chris Green, Craig Overton, David Payne, Tom Hartley, and Nathan Sowter occupy the bottom half of the top 10 list with three scalps each to their name.
