TNPL 2024 top run-getters and wicket-takers after Lyca Kovai Kings vs Chepauk Super Gillies (Updated) ft. Balasubramaniam Sachin and Abhishek Tanwar

Chepauk Super Gillies faced Lyca Kovai Kings in the first match of the Lanka Premier League on Friday, July 5, at the SCF Cricket Ground in Salem. The Super Gillies won the toss and elected to bowl.

The Kings lost their first three wickets for just 24 runs. Balasubramaniam Sachin and U Mukilesh added 64 runs for the fourth wicket. They took the team’s total near the 100-run mark. Sachin got out on the last delivery of the innings. He finished with 63 runs off 53 deliveries.

The Kings posted a total of 141 runs for the loss of seven wickets. Abhishek Tanwar was the pick of the bowlers for the Super Gillies and took four wickets for 26 runs in four overs.

The Super Gillies lost their first wicket without a run on the board. Narayan Jagadeesan and Baba Aparajith added 56 runs for the second wicket. The Super Gillies lost their next two wickets for just seven runs. Aparajith scored 38 runs off 29 deliveries before getting dismissed. Pradosh Ranjan Paul had to retire hurt after scoring 40 runs off 32 deliveries.

The Super Gillies fell short of the target of 142 runs by 13 runs. Gowtham Thamarai Kannan, M Mohammed, and Jhatavedh Subramanyan took one wicket each for the Kings. Balasubramaniam Sachin won the Player of the Match award.

Balasubramaniam Sachin has jumped to the first position and scored 63 runs in his first match.

Pradosh Ranjan Paul has moved to second place and scored 40 runs at a strike rate of 125 in his first outing.

Baba Aparajith has jumped to third position and made 38 runs off 29 deliveries in his first outing.

U Mukilesh scored 31 runs off 25 deliveries in his first match. He has moved to fourth place.

Narayan Jagadeesan is in fifth position and amassed 18 runs in the first match for the Chepauk Super Gillies.
