Labuschagne, Ingram star as Glamorgan defeat Kent by 13 runs
Kent elected to bowl first in the 112th game of the tournament against Glamorgan. The game was reduced to a 13-over-a-side affair as rain interrupted play.
Skipper Kiran Carlson opened the Glamorgan innings with William Sale. Both Carlson and Sale scored 18 runs each and gave Glamorgan a decent start.
However, it was Marnus Labuschagne (50 off 26) and Colin Ingram that made sizable contributions for Glamorgan. Labuschagne’s innings were laced with seven fours and one six, while Colin Ingram scored two boundaries and two maximums for Glamorgan.
In the end, Glamorgan managed to put up a score of 145/6 in 13 overs. Nathan Glichrist took 2/21 in three overs, while Marcus O’Riordan and Joey Evison took one wicket each for Kent.
Chasing 146, Daniel Bell-Drummond (27 off 15), Sam Billings (33 off 17), and Tom Rogers (31 off 12) made useful contributions for Kent, but in vain, as they lost the game by a slender margin of 13 runs.
Timm van der Gugten took two wickets for Glamorgan, and he was well supported by fellow teammates Dan Douthwaite, Mason Crane, and Marnus Labuschagne, who took one wicket each.
