Zimbabwe captain Sikandar Raza has scored a century off just 33 balls and led his team to the highest T20I total ever recorded. He accomplished this remarkable feat during the 12th game of the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Sub Regional Africa Qualifier against Gambia on Wednesday, October 23.
After winning the toss, Zimbabwe openers Brian Bennett (50 off 26) and T. Marumani (62 off 19) put together a stunning partnership of 98 runs for the first wicket in just 34 balls.
Coming in at No. 4, Raza reached his fifty off 20 deliveries. He unleashed an assault in the 17th over, hitting four sixes and two fours. The 38-year-old completed his century in 33 balls, marking the second-fastest century in T20I history.
Here’s a video of Sikandar Raza’s innings:
The captain finished unbeaten on 133 runs from 43 balls, striking seven fours and 15 sixes. Clive Madande contributed 53*off 17 balls, with three fours and five sixes, as Zimbabwe set a total of 344 for four in 20 overs. This score is the highest ever recorded in a T20I match, surpassing Nepal's previous record of 314 for three against Mongolia in 2023.
While the Gambian bowlers struggled to contain the runs, Musa Jobarteh set an unwanted record by becoming the bowler to concede the most runs in a single T20I innings, giving away 93 runs in just four overs.

In reply, Gambia never found their footing, losing wickets in rapid succession. Andre Jarju (12*) was the only player to reach double figures as Gambia were dismissed for 54 runs in 14.4 overs. Zimbabwe recorded a 290-run victory, the highest margin of victory by runs in T20Is.
Richard Ngarava and Brandon Mavuta both took three wickets each. Sikandar Raza was named the Player of the Match for his exceptional innings.
