After an entertaining though one-sided Test series, the ODI assignment has entered into an interesting phase between South Africa and Pakistan. The Proteas dominated the three-match red-ball series. They won all the three matches and whitewashed the Sarfaraz Ahmed-led Pakistan side.

However, the tourists made a strong comeback in the ODI series. The Men in Green started the five-match series on a winning note, defeating the hosts by five wickets in the first ODI in Port Elizabeth.

After a disappointing batting show in Tests, Pakistan batsmen showed some form in the match to take a 1-0 lead. Opener Imam-ul-Haq made a well-composed 81 runs while as an experienced campaigner, Mohammad Hafeez fired quick knock of 71 runs.

An exceptional all-round display by Andile Phehlukwayo helped Africa trounce Pakistan by five wickets in a low-scoring encounter in Durban to level the series.

The all-rounder first scalped a four-wicket haul by giving away just 22 runs in his quota of 9.5 balls and later scored an unbeaten 69 to help his team cross the line. Apart from him, it was Rassie van der Dussen, who did a fine job with the bat to ensure a South African victory.

The right-handed batsman, who is playing his debut series made 93 runs in the first ODI and followed it up with an 80 in the second one.
