Pakistan vs South Africa (RSA)-Well Done Pakistan

In a way,due mainly to the disgraceful nature of the pitch.This game ended in a tame draw and thus the series too was drawn.This after South Africa declared early on day 5 setting Pakistan an improbably target of 354.Though on this pitch that would be at home as an autobahn between Amsterdam and Berlin.There was little or no chance of RSA dismissing Pakistan.Though i’m sure Pakistan fans who are so used to some real HariKari in there batting were a bit dubious of their team getting the draw they so richly deserved.

Though after the opening partnership settled the nerves to get to 66.Then the game showed signs of life.The RSA spinners sent three Pakistani’s back to the pavilion in quick succession including the Pakistan ‘rock of Gibraltar’ in Younis Khan for a duck.So nerves started to jangle a bit……….Though this new side under the leadership of Misbah is one of steel and great resolve and duly they fought out a very note worthy draw and thus a drawn series.The cricket pundits will see it as a failing by RSA,but to me it was more a case of a victory by Pakistan achieved in a way that they are rarely known for in recent times.GRIT AND DETERMINATIONPast Pakistani players who epitomised this like Javed Miandad and Inzamam ul Haq would have stood up and applauded!
