Andrew Hudson made his Test debut against West Indies at Bridgetown, in April 1992. In the first innings, he scored a magnificent 163 while in the second innings he made a duck. Although South Africa lost the match by 52 runs, Hudson was named Man of the Match along with Curtly Ambrose (West Indies).
Hudson made his debut in ODIs against India at Kolkata on November 10, 1991. He could bat for three balls before being caught by Kiran More off the bowling of Kapil Dev.
