Joginder Sharma, who bowled the historic last over in the final of the inaugural World T20 back in 2007, became a police officer in Haryana after his retirement. On the other hand Sri Lankan all-rounder Sanath Jayasuriya has served as a Member of Parliament for the Matara District in the Asian Island.
