CCL is an amateur cricket league involving 8 teams represented by eight different regional film industries from India. Inspired from Indian Premier League (IPL), it was set up in 2011 with only 4 teams and has been on upswing ever since following its massive success.

The 2015 season, which kickstarted on January 10, saw Telugu Warriors being crowned as champions on February 1 after a comfortable 7-wicket victory against Chennai Rhinos in the grand final of the competition at Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium, Hyderabad.

For Warriors, one of the four teams that formed the base of the league, this was the first taste of glory after coming so close to winning in 2013 only to be content with the runners-up spot. The Rhinos won the first two seasons, while Karnataka Bulldozers took the next two.
