New Zealand's Ross Taylor defended Black Caps captain Kane Williamson, whose leadership has come under attack in some sections of the media for showing a lack of aggression.
"He's still a great captain. He leads from the front and the team respect him and love playing under him. We'd love as a team to take a little bit of pressure off him and score some runs and not let him do everything," said Taylor on Tuesday.
Successive defeats to Pakistan and Australia have left New Zealand's World Cup hopes in the balance and they need to beat England on Wednesday to be sure of a semi-final spot.
Taylor praised his former Sussex team-mate, Jofra Archer, for his contribution to the England line-up, saying he had "added a different dimension and balance to their side".
