Malabar Hill Club Maharashtra State Selection Billiards & Snooker Tournament 2013: Pune cueists move up

Pune cueists Anand Raghuvanshi and Amol Abdagiri registered impressive wins in the first round of the senior snooker competition, in the Malabar Hill Club Maharashtra State Selection Billiards & Snooker Tournament on Saturday.

PYC’s Raghuvanshi overcame Viraj Joshi 2-1, while Abdagiri of Deccan Gymkhana prevailed over Jayesh C of Thane 2-0. Joining the duo in the next round was their compatriot Sumit Kataria of Deccan Gymkhana who beat qualifier Akhil Saiyed of Vashi 2-0.

Also moving up were Hitesh Kotwani of CCI and Manan Shah of Malabar Hill Club who upset Manoj Kasare of Khar Gymkhana 2-0.

The qualifiers include Avenish Shah, Vishal Vaya and Sumit Saldurkar of Mandpeshwar Civic Federation, Borivali, Shahbaz Khan and Siddharth Shah of Elphinstone Cricket Club and Umesh Barwe of Central Railway.
