SPG-Park Club Open Billiards Tournament: Mixed fortunes for Vishal Gehani

Vishal Gehani experienced mixed fortunes while going down by just three points against Raj Khandwala of CCI in a thrilling Group I tie, in the SPG-Park Club Open Billiards Handicap Tournament on Friday.

Gehani of Park Club opened his campaign with a convincing win over Sanjay Patil of Shivaji Park Gymkhana before losing to Khandwala 204-207 in his second outing in the one-hour time format contest.

In contrast, the fancied marched on as Chandresh Shah of PJ Hindu Gymkhana registered his third straight win to top Group F and qualify for the next phase along with second-placed Jal Singporevala.

The other significant winners were Ronnie Daruwalla, Majesh Jagdale, Sanjeev Bijlani, Nikhil Ghadge and Rohan Jambusaria who fashioned their second straight wins to enhance their hopes of making it to the next round.
