Plot

After a widespread success of Far Cry 3, Ubisoft have decided to sustain the fans of its franchise with a fourth installment Far Cry 4. And this time they are taking you to a journey to the fictional Himalayas in the exotic land of India.

The setting is in Kyrat, an imaginary wild version of the Himalayas struggling under the tyrannical regime of a dictator named Pagan Min. The story follows the protagonist Ajay Ghale, who gets caught up in a civil war situation after he returns to spread his mother’s ashes in his homeland. Developers at Ubisoft have turned around the concept which is quite opposite to the “White Saviour” theme of Far Cry 3.

In the last installment, we experienced a foreigner come into an unknown land and become a hero by rescuing the natives. However, in Far Cry 4, the character returns to his native land to prevent outsiders from gaining control on foreign grounds. The game includes the Playstation Plus subscribing feature where one gamer can invite a maximum of 10 friends online to play a co-operative session even though they do not own the game. It simply means that once you have been invited, you can download the game and play alongside the host player.

The game also addresses the issues that the gamers faced in the last edition of the franchise where the plot contradicted the lengthy open world nature of the game. The player ended up deviating from the game objective in order to fulfill the explorations despite the game being time critical. So Far Cry4 ensures that the gameplay and storyline complement each other.

Release Platforms

Just like its predecessors, the game will be played from the view of a first-person shooter in an open world setting. It is set to be released on November 18, 2014 across various platforms including PS4, Xbox One,PS3, Xbox 360 and Microsoft Windows.
