First-person module reveals Star Citizen

The event at PAX Australia showed off Star Citizen’s first person module during its fan event. It detailed the modules shooting, perspective, animation and environmental features. Chris Roberts, Clouds Imperium Games founder stated that whatever the in-game character is doing in third-person, the animation is exactly what they are doing in first-person. The rigs are all of the same and feature the same animation. The demo also highlighted combat in zero-gravity environments, as well as how weapons “shoot were the gun is pointing."

It was teased and revealed earlier this year that the developer of Nexuiz for the Xbox 360 and OC, Illogic, is he studio working on the first-person module. However, there is a lot more polish to be added to the first-person shooting component of the space exploration title before it launches late next year.

According to the updated Star Citizen roadmap, the developer will roll out the following in approximate order next year and the FPS module, planet side/social module, Arena Commander 2.0 multi-crew module, Squadron 42 Chapter One and planet side will expand to persistent universe alpha. The Squadron 42 Chapter One is slated to launch “early next year sometime” and is 15-20 hours long.
