Halo: The Master Chief Collection day-one update now available for download

A few weeks ago Microsoft announced that the much awaited Halo: The Master Chief Collection release would have huge day one update that would include the multiplayer aspect of the game as well as some other extras. The good news is that the update is available for download now for those of you who pre-ordered the game. It also isn’t as big as previously expected with Microsoft reducing the update size down to 15 GB instead of 20 GB.

343 Industries’ Dan Ayoub has mentioned through his Twitter account that the update is now available for download for people who have pre-ordered the game.

“Good news gang! Day One TU for MCC is up! If you haven’t enabled auto download, go get it now!! #HaloMCC

Even though the size of the update has been reduced, it is still quite huge so if you are one of those people who pre-ordered the game, its best you get downloading now. For those of you who are having any problems with the update, Ayoub gave the following advice on twitter;

“For the update, you may need to back out or even restart to kick it into gear. But trust me, it is there waiting for you!”

Though if you are planning to buy the game from a retail store you are out of luck as you will not be able to download the update till next Tuesday. Also for some players the large update might be quite a burden and Halo boss Frank O’Connor has mentioned that he understands that some people will be frustrated and has apologized for this stating "For some folks it will be straight up annoying and I both apologize unreservedly for the irritance, and hope that the package and the way it works more than makes up for it.”

The Master Chief Collection launches on November 11th for Xbox One.
