Halo: New screenshots for combat evolved on Xbox One

343 Industries has recently provided some details and screenshots of Halo: The Master Chief Collection in the Halo Bulletin, which displays a remake of the Halo: Combat Evolved.

The screenshots (which can be seen below) ,are from the Halo: Combat Evolved remake's multiplayer which, Microsoft Game Studios boss Phil Spencer, had stated to be the most important aspect of the game. Although there are improvements in the visuals in comparison to the ones seen in the original Xbox, the fact that it is an old game is still very visible. The environment still looks quite boring with some bland, blocky structures, which brings down the new detailing in the character models. 343 Industries has not displayed the Xbox One version of the single player but expectations are high since the entire campaign for that game was rebuilt with a new graphics engine.

The Combat Evolved remake in Halo: The Master Chief Collection features all of the custom game types from the original game. In addition, you can tweak the experience with various options as well, such as turning radar on or off. Also, 343 says the various maps that were exclusive to the PC version of Combat Evolved will be available in the Xbox One version for custom games and matchmaking. The same is true for Halo 2's PC-exclusive maps.

The Flame thrower and Fuel Rod gun which was available in the PC version of Combat evolved will not be included in the Xbox One version, although you will be able to choose from multiple weapon sets, including one called "classic".

The Master Chief Collection launches November 11 for Xbox One, and includes remastered versions of Halo 1-4 (with multiplayer support), as well as access to Ridley Scott's Halo: Nightfall show, and a key to the upcoming Halo 5: Guardians beta. This pre-release period begins December 29, 2014 and runs through January 19, 2015.
