Latest on Bloodborne - Info & Screens

Bloodborne producer Masaaki Yamagiwa has revealed more about the game through a post on the PlayStation blog. The post gives a description about the gothic world, its inhabitants, and the weapons needed to survive them in the action RPG.

Gyula, a new hunter character, described as an "old veteran hunter," is unseen since his journey into the deserted ruins of the city, where players may encounter him. Besides the mention of his "amazing skill," there isn't much else revealed about Gyula yet. The teaser post also mentions Cainhurst Castle, a frozen fortress once occupied by a noble family which is now mysteriously disappeared.

Bloodborne's combat system is very different from that of the previous games from FromSoftware – Demon's Souls and Dark Souls. There exists a more "pro-active" combat style in the game, where players must remain on the offensive to take on larger groups of enemies at once. Consequently, Bloodborne offers several multi-use weapons, which plays into the game's light/heavy and short/long range combo system. An example of this is the newly announced transforming cane, a short range melee weapon in the form of a standard walking cane, that doubles as a long range weapon when extended into a bladed whip.

The final screen in this latest Bloodborne announcement teases a network of underground ruins below Yharnam, the city where Bloodborne is set.

"What’s more, these ruins appear differently to each hunter brave enough to enter," Yamagiwa said.

More details regarding the game are expected at the PlayStation Experience in Las Vegas scheduled to be held around December 6-7. The producer has stressed on the team's desire to "deliver the best possible final experience." So, a lot can be expected from the game.

Bloodborne will be released exclusively for PS 4 in March 2015.
