Farming Simulator is a farming simulation video game developed by Giants Software. The locations are based on American and European environments. Players are able to farm, breed livestock, grow crops and sell all assets created from farming. The most important and notciable improvement that is seen in the first glimpse of the game is the advancement of the graphic level and the amount of detailing given to the surrounding. Tractors and other vehicles in the game no longer wildly flip over or get stuck on every small incline in the environment. Since no game can be perfect, but still the speed of the vehicles still remain realistic. The developers have also introduced the gameplay element of woodcutting that enables players to utilize both chainsaws and woodcutting vehicles to gain money from chopping trees and then transporting the logs to sellers. It serves as a nice break from the continuosly planting and havesting the field.

Gameplay:

Owners of the previous games of the series will definitely buy this one because of the improved graphics and gameplay. The gameplay in this one is much more enjoyable. The gameplay is on the open ended nature where the players first select from either the United States or Nordic inspired worlds and then are thrust onto a farm in which they own a few fields and various farming vehicles and equipment. The game world does include a day and night cycle in which a variety of missions and daily deals on vehicles and equipment cycle through during the week. With the woodcutting being a new gameplay element there are unfortunately some issues in the process of actually cutting and moving the wood. There are Missions that consists of the player doing tasks within a time frame such as mowing grass or deliver cargo, then when the player completes it, you get the base amount, then a time bonus.

Players that are unware of farming will have a hard time because the game doesn’t provide that much guidance in the tutorials. I mean, it does provide enough to play but not enough to enjoy the actual fun in farming. So the begginers to this kind of game will face some difficulties. Tasks like sowing and plowing and which order the various farming tasks much be completed will be a little messy for them too. Last but not the least, the game also offers multiplayer component which allows for up to 15 players to farm alongside one another with all of the same vehicles and features from single-player.

Final Verdict:

For those who are new to the game, they will get a nice feel towards it as they will get to farm virtually. And along with the improvement in the graphics. environment and as well as gameplay the fun increases all the way more. It more feels like a farmer’s mind than yours. Farming Simulator 15 is a great addition to the series that includes a massively improved graphics and physics engine in addition to redesigned user interface and woodcutting gameplay. So I’d say give it a try. You might like it.
