The Evil Within set to be released in August for PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 & Xbox One

Shinji Mikami’s newly directed survival horror titled “The Evil Within” is slated for release at the end of August.

The father of Survival horror who has been the man behind franchises such as Resident Evil and Dino Crisis is back with his highly anticipated venture that includes highly crafted environments with gruesome and horrifying experiences for the player. The game is being developed by Japanese Studio Tango Gameworks and published by Bethsda Softwares for PC, Xbox 360, PS3, PS4 and Xbox One.

The story revolves around detective Sebastian Castellanos and his partners, Joseph Oda and Julie “Kid” Kidman, who while investigating a mass gruesome murder face an unknown mysterious power. Being a witness to the serial slaughter of his fellow officers, Sebastian is ambushed and knocked unconscious. When he awakens, he finds himself hanging upside down in a world of Evil where hideous creatures wander among the dead.

Facing unimaginable terror, and fighting for survival, Sebastian has to face his fears in order to survive on a journey to discover what lies in the shadows of that mysterious force.

The game was in development since 2012 under the working name of “Project Zwei.” A 12 minute long trailer has been released in their official site with scrapped scenes of game play unveiling the fact that it is not something for the faint-hearted.
