India bag rights to host International Equestrian Tent Pegging Championship

The Equestrian Federation of India (EFI) on Tuesday bagged the rights to organise International Equestrian Tent Pegging Championship 2015 at the Noida Sports Stadium March 10-15.

The tournament will be followed by four national championships and will be part of the Penta Grand 2015 being organised from February 26 to March 15," the EFI said in a statement.

Apart from the International Equestrian Tent Pegging Championship, the other events are Asian Equestrian Tent Pegging Championship, National Equestrian Tent Pegging Championship, the Great Noida Horse Show and National Awards Night at the Noida Sports Stadium.

A total of 17 countries have already confirmed their participation in Asian and International Tent Pegging Championship 2015, according to the release.

The participating countries are Great Britain, Russia, the US, Germany, Norway, Sweden, Egypt, Jordan, the UAE, Iran, India, Iraq, Pakistan, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Kazakhstan, and Qatar.

The national, Asian and international equestrian championships will see competition in categories like individual tent pegging - lance, team tent pegging - lance, individual tent pegging - sword, team tent pegging - sword, individual rings & pegs - lance, individual lemon & pegs - sword, paired tent pegging - lance & sword, and Indian file - lance & sword.

As a part of Great Noida Horse show, Equestrian Federation of India (EFI) & Equiwings Sports will be offering an open competition for all riders of the country in 68 event disciplines including show jumping, dressage, tent pegging, endurance, hacks and gymkhana events.
