Red Dead Redemption 2
Red Dead Redemption 2

2018 is almost over and around this time we are mostly waiting for the next year and the new games. These are the time when we are not sure which game we really loved from this year and for what reason.

Sometimes we forget a game because it came out too early in the year or we miss a few games because they released at a busy time and then the mixed reviews stopped us from buying it. That’s why a year-end list is so important. It reminds us of the things we have forgotten or missed through-out the year and that represents a chance for us to remind ourselves about those games.

A list of best games of the year is very important to remind us which games we enjoyed, which game we missed out and which games we still need to get.

#3 Red Dead Redemption 2

Hunting in Red Dead Redemption 2
Hunting in Red Dead Redemption 2

When Red Dead Redemption came out, a lot of people compared it with GTA calling it the GTA on horses but honestly, community loved that game and a sequel was heavily demanded. We did not get a sequel, however, we did get a second game which is Red Dead Redemption 2, a prequel to the first story.

I did cover the entire Red Dead Redemption 2 articles pre-release and so if I start telling you why Red Dead Redemption 2 is one of the best games of 2018 it will be 5 more articles. The developers used euphoria to achieve realistic behavior and physics.

The open world is so detailed and open that you can just ignore the main storyline and play it is a Role-Playing Game and do whatever your little heart wishes. The graphics is absolutely stunning and realistic. Euphoria engine does not only make it more real but also alive.

The landscape in the game is beautiful. From snow-capped mountains to swamps to cities. You have everything in the game. The wildlife is another extremely good thing about this game, you can encounter different breed of animals and birds. You can hunt them and sell their meat or bone or just sell the dead animal for money.

Action sequences are very realistic so is the shooting mechanic. Riding horses is one of the best things in the game, enjoy your ride while you can.

#2 Assassin’s Creed Odyssey

Assassin's Creed Odyssey
Assassin's Creed Odyssey

What are you seeking? A game you can explore? With action-packed storyline? And the open world at the same time? Sounds a little too much? I would say but they released Assassin’s Creed Odyssey and your wish is granted.

Exploration, combat, role-playing and the open world makes it Assassin’s Creed Odyssey one of the best games of 2018. The game makes you enable to edit your story as you wish, you can choose dialogues and make your own decision as you will deal with the consequences later in the game.

Just like the entire Assassin’s Creed franchise, this new installment used both realistic and imaginary characters and as always the game has a very strong action-packed storyline. Players will enjoy the stunning landscape as they explore mountains, meadows, cities, and islands.

Hidden shipwrecks, mythical beasts, creepy tombstones, combat arenas, and the game’s environment will add a flavor to your every gaming session. The story will give you the feel of a warm reunion mixed with a cold and hard search for vengeance against an evil cult.

The series was mostly built around the strong historical sagas and dense open-world but finally, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey will give you the taste of mythical beasts and vibrant colors.

#1 Destiny 2: Forsaken

Destiny 2: Forsaken
Destiny 2: Forsaken

Forsaken a kind of expansion you wait around for. A year of Destiny 2 and then BAM! Forsaken expansion completely changed the feel of the game. Completely re-engineered weapon system to offer increased access to powerful guns like shotguns and sniper rifles. Every combat feels so different in the game yet the fantastic gun-play of the series remains intact.

Forsaken also added two new environments to the game and arguably the best raid of the game. The new PvP and the PvEvP mode is way faster and way more enjoyable than the guardian on guardian battle of the past. Forsaken also starts a new-era, giving developers a foundation on which they can now build for the next few years.
