5 Best PC Games of All Time - Greatest PC Games Ever

DOTA2 & CS: GO
DOTA2 & CS: GO

This is the hardest thing to do when it comes to making a list. Honestly, you can just pick 5 PC games and call them the best of all time. Last time I tried to make a list like this I ended up having over 25 games in the list. PC games probably have the largest collection of games. It’s hard to make a top 10 list even when they are separated by genre.

All time best games are not something that came with a bang and disappeared. There are a few things you need to understand, there are over 100 games that deserves to be on the list but they can’t. There are massive hit games from different studios but all-time bests are something that came out 10 years ago and you still enjoy the game in the current time.

Games that created a revolution in PC gaming, games that an entire generation can relate to are the kind of games that we call best of all time. This is entirely my personal list of 5 best pc games of all time and you don’t have to agree with it but I am sure you’ve played these games and had a blast.

#1 Grand Theft Auto: Vice City

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City
Grand Theft Auto: Vice City

What can I say about this game? Ask any 90’s kid and they will tell you a better story than I can. Vice City was one of those games that made a lot of us “PC GAMERS” or Gamers in general. This amazing game did not only allow you to explore the open world but considering the time when it came out, it was very realistic.

You can choose to do missions or you can just drive around killing people and running from cops (Which I did). You can play freely and interact with the open world and do multiple missions. Vice City gave us the freedom we wanted in a game and even though without the storyline just running and gunning innocents seems boring, trust me, it was a lot of fun.

Rockstar has always amused us with their open world games and they did the same with this game. The game was developed by Rockstar North and published by Rockstar Games. Jump into this action-adventure video game to feel the thrill.

#2 DOTA2

DOTA2
DOTA2

No argument on this one. I understand but you can’t just drop the most selling, most played, most complicated MOBA ever created. Dota2 defines E-sports and I am not even trying to brag. Moba is arguably the most popular genre when it comes to PC gaming and Dota2 dominates both the competitive gaming scene and the online gaming scene. Very few games can come close to the stats of Dota2.

Dota2 is a game of 10 players where players meet in a battle arena in a team of 5. The basic of the game is to pick a hero and earn gold and experience by killing the creeps on the map, build items, and push the towers. It is a real-time strategy game. The goal is to break the enemy’s ancient before they break yours. Whoever breaks the ancient wins the game. Everything else is just the amazing filler of the game. You need to defend your towers, destroy enemy towers while leveling your hero up to secure a late-game win.

#3 Counter-Strike: Global Offensive

CS: GO
CS: GO

Counter strike global offensive joined the party after CS 1.6 said goodbye. 1.6 gave us a good time and we all know how much time we spent on those maps. CS 1.6 was already in e-sports but CS: GO arrived and changed it completely. Better graphics, realistic recoils, better weapons and armory, and remade maps. CS: GO just changed the face of Counter-Strike and it is now one of the top games in the E-sports industry.

Counterstrike is played between 2 teams each with 5 players. One team plays the role of terrorists and the other one counter-terrorist. As a counter-terrorist, your job is to eliminate the enemy team or defuse the bomb they plant (or just don’t let them plant it at all). As a terrorist, your job is to plant the bomb in one of the bomb sites and let it detonate or eliminate the counter-terrorist team before the time ends. After 15 rounds, you swap sides and continue the game until one team wins 16 rounds.

#4 Half-Life 2

Half-Life 2
Half-Life 2

Half-life 2 is a first-person shooter video game developed and published by Valve Corp. It is the sequel of 1998’s Half-life and it was released in November 2004 following a 5-year development. The game was developed alongside Valve’s Source Engine.

“Taking place some years after the events of Half-Life, protagonist Gordon Freeman is awakened by the enigmatic G-Man to find the world has been taken over by the alien Combine. Joined by allies including resistance fighter Alyx Vance, Gordon searches for a way to free humanity using a variety of weapons, including the object-manipulating Gravity Gun.”

The game was super welcomed by the critics, it was praised for its next-gen graphics, physics, and animation. Needless to say, the source engine and Valve’s development team stunned the world and made the gaming community more than happy with this release.

#5 The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt

Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt
Witcher 3: The Wild Hunt

I know this game is not so old but that doesn't really matter. The way I see it is that when Witched 3 came in it was ahead of its time and the game will be popular for the next 10 years with eyes closed. Needless to say, the replayability of the game makes it one of the best RPG of all time.

The game came out in 2015 and was an instant hit from the moment it released. The Witcher 3 is set in a fantasy universe full of stunning landscapes and environments. Witcher’s amazing open world interaction makes it even special. The game revolves around your meaningful choices and their consequences.

You play as the professional monster hunter the legendary Geralt of Rivia tasked with finding a child of prophecy in a vast world of merchant cities, pirate islands and dangerous mountain passes. Don’t forget to explore the amazing open world of The Witcher 3.
