Cyberpunk 2 is one of the next big projects that CD Projekt Red is working on along with Witcher 4. However, at the time of its release, Cyberpunk didn't leave the best impression on fans. The title was often unplayable because of various crashes and game-breaking bugs. The PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions were even worse because the scope of the game made it difficult to run on older hardware.

Over time, the game did come back from the dead when it was patched, with every new update fixing issues that plagued its early iterations. Today, Cyberpunk is a lot more playable than it was after its release and is touted as one of the biggest comeback stories in the history of video games. The Phantom Liberty expansion breathed new life into the game and made Cyberpunk relevant again three years after its original release.

With Cyberpunk now a success story, fans are looking forward to Cyberpunk 2, which has been in the works for some time. With no release date in sight, the least we can do is talk about the changes we would like in the most awaited sequel. In this article, we do just that. Here are 5 things we would like to see in Cyberpunk 2.

Note: This list is subjective, reflects the writer's opinions, and is not in any particular order.

These are 5 things we would like to see in Cyberpunk 2

1) A polished release

The first game's buggy release broke the trust of many players in the gaming community. Cyberpunk was hyped for years and a broken release not only made players lose faith in the developers but in the industry as a whole. We would like to see Cyberpunk 2 in a polished and playable state on day one to avoid the same situation the first game ended up in.

2) Next-gen only

What held back the release of the first Cyberpunk title was the promise of the game coming out on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles. These older systems were not capable of running the game properly, and the title often crashed on these consoles. For the release of Cyberpunk 2, we would prefer to see the game released only for the next-gen consoles.

3) A multiplayer mode

Cyberpunk was originally supposed to have a multiplayer mode as well, which was later scrapped when all the manpower went into fixing the game. We never got to take a look at how the mode could have looked. In Cyberpunk 2, we wish we could see the proper implementation of a multiplayer mode where players can show off the cyber tech and weapons they earned in the main story.

4) A new celebrity character

Cyberpunk's main draw was its most likable character Johnny Silverhand which made the story feel even better. Keanu Reeves playing the character made for an enjoyable experience which further got enhanced with Idris Elba joining The Phantom Liberty expansion. In Cyberpunk 2, we would like to see a new actor such as Cillian Murphy or Jared Leto appear as a character in the game.

5) More branched storylines

The game should have had branched storylines like Witcher 3 (Image via CD PROJEKT RED)

Cyberpunk was supposed to have dynamic storylines which changed depending on your choices. However, the release version didn't feature many branched storylines, as most of them led to the same conclusion. Just like Witcher 3, in Cyberpunk 2, we would like to see this mechanic be expanded upon to make every playthrough unique and diverse, allowing more replay value.
