Bioware's Anthem is causing significant issues on the PS4 console. The latest issue that was seen is a full system shutdown while playing the game. This could seriously impact the hardware if it does not shut down properly. Sudden shutdowns and overclocking the processor of the PS4 can fry the SSD inside the console.

There has been a mega thread on Reddit's Anthem subreddit to report the issue. Anthem Lead Producer Ben Irvo has caught some of the many threads being posted and has said that they will be looking into the issue. For now, it's probably a good idea not to play Anthem.

Although the issue is being looked into, Sony will offer a refund if you don't wish to play it. While there is no official statement or announcement from Sony, many have mentioned across the subreddit that players simply need to chat with Sony support to explain the issue and they will refund you no questions asked.

Anthem hasn't been doing so well since its release. It had a popular demo, showcasing the multiplayer experience while questing through Fort Tarsis. But as players continued to quest and explore the open world, many were quick to see the lack of content in the game and how easily it could be finished.

Anthem also had quite a few bugs with a shoddy release. Bioware is famous for its Mass Effect series, which gave them a lot of popularity and many hoped that Anthem will live up to its hype. This situation is not new, as games take time to polish after initial release.

For now, the Freelancers need more to do in the game while also addressing the various issue that has come along with it. The concept is quite unique and is definitely a game that has potential. Maybe Bioware can change that.
