Arena Breakout Season 2 update patch notes: New map, weapons, and more

Arena Breakout Season 2 will be released on October 27, 2023. The forthcoming update is expected to be a game changer, providing a new map, a weapon arsenal, and much more. Matchmaking will be temporarily paused on October 26 at 23:00 (UTC+0), and servers will be unavailable from 00:00 to 11:00 (UTC+0) on October 27.

Once the dust has settled, iOS users can download the most recent client version from the App Store. That said, there may be potential launch delays.


Patch notes for Arena Breakout Season 2

The following are the official patch notes for the Arena Breakout Season 2 update as presented by the game's developers:

New season rewards

  • After the New Season Login Gift event starts, complete the update from October 27 – November 02 (UTC+0) and log in to claim 60 coins from Events.
  • After the S2 update, from October 27–29 only, you can claim a Universal Key. This key can open any locked door (except for rooms that require cards).

New events in Arena Breakout

Storm warning [October 27 – November 9 (UTC+0)]

The onset of a dense fog will drastically alter the visual conditions at the Farm. Enemies will exploit the dense fog to conceal themselves and operate discreetly. When patrolling outdoor areas, they will be quieter and more cautious. Some foes will be carrying flashlights, but keep in mind that these might be a double-edged weapon.


Mysterious tactical squad [October 27 – November 9 (UTC+0)]

The onset of a dense fog will drastically alter the visual conditions at the Farm. Members of secretive tactical squads will be carrying flashlights, but keep in mind that they can be a double-edged blade.


Coin store [October 27 – November 9 (UTC+0)]

In Storm Warning mode, pumpkin coins can appear in bags, sports backpacks, and cases. In Storm Warning mode, members of mysterious patrols and boss squads have a chance to carry pumpkin coins.


Fog of War [October 27 – November 9 (UTC+0)]

Complete quests to earn the associated rewards. Unclaimed incentives will be forfeited when the event concludes, so make sure to claim them.

Fog of War login gift [October 27 – November 9 (UTC+0)]

  • Log in for a set number of days to claim the corresponding rewards. Unclaimed rewards will be lost when the event ends, so don't forget to claim them!
  • The New S2 Gun Incoming events have arrived!

Weapon Master [October 27 – November 23 (UTC+0)]

When you select a challenge for the first time, you will be able to claim the matching weapon. If you abandon the challenge, you will not be able to regain the weapon. Unclaimed incentives will be forfeited when the event concludes, so make sure to claim them.


Weapon Evaluation [October 27 – November 23 (UTC+0)]

When a player uses a weapon for the first time, they can evaluate its performance. Unclaimed incentives will be forfeited when the event concludes, so make sure to claim them!


Road to Port [October 27 – November 09 (UTC+0)]

Complete the Rodriguez Contact Missions throughout the event to unlock the Port map ahead of everyone else and improve your combat activity. As global combat activity grows, all players will be able to claim the relevant awards and unlock the Port map. During the event, players who unlock the Port map ahead of time may also act as team captains, leading other players onto the map.


New season login gift [October 20 – November 02 (UTC+0)]

Log in on Oct. 27 to claim coins.


Map updates in Arena Breakout

  • New Map - Port: Play this map in either normal or Lockdown Zone mode, and check out the new helicopter extraction!
  • Northridge Refresh: The checkpoint has been expanded to become the Camp Services zone, and the Observation Deck is now the Cable Car Station.
  • Extraction point switches are now marked to help players find them.
  • There was an attempt to move the safe in the Motel corridor out of the Farm, but it appears the armored car crashed under the Broken Bridge.

New weapons in Arena Breakout

  • Assault rifles: AN-94 (5.45x39), AEK (7.62x39), ACE 31 (7.62x39), and SCAR-L (5.56x45)
  • Shotgun: DP-12 (12x70)
  • Revolver: M300 Revolver (7.62x54)

New tactical items + changes in Arena Breakout

  • The new X300U-A tactical flashlight can be fitted on a laser sight to enhance your tactical capabilities at night.
  • Adjustments were made to the shape of the smoke from the M18 smoke grenade for a more natural look.
  • Improvements were made to the blinding effect of the M84 flashbang.
  • Improvements to the decoy grenade: Footsteps generated by the decoy now have a random rhythm, and decoy sounds differ depending on the material it's placed on.

New system features and improvements in Arena Breakout

  • Kit Builder: Recommends equipment based on a budget you set.
  • Quick Kit: Use kit coupons to quickly gear up before entering the Dark Zone.
  • Tactical Draw: Tactical Draw action can be triggered when a player switches from their primary weapon to their secondary weapon.
  • World Chat Translate: This allows players to translate text from another player based on one's selected language settings.
  • Chat channels in local languages.
  • Leaderboards added.
  • Personalization options, including outfits, badges, dog tags, etc.
  • Share Rating function and improvements made to Share Rating History.
  • Map selection layout.
  • Armory Interior map (levels B1 and B2 can now be accessed).
  • Improvements made to character animations and actions in the team lobby.
  • Huge overhaul of the raid summary screen, including a new route overview feature.

Balance adjustments in Arena Breakout

Tactical items in Arena Breakout

  • Reduced the maximum lethal range for M67 frag grenade, Mk 2 frag grenade, and GHO 2 offensive grenade.
  • Slight extension of the fuse time for the M67, Mk 2, and GHO 2 grenades.
  • Adjustments made to the distribution of damage caused by the Molotov cocktail to various parts of the body: damage caused to the legs increased.
  • Smoke grenade effect on soundprints: When the player is inside a smoke screen generated from a smoke grenade, the refresh interval of their soundprint becomes longer, making it more difficult for other players to locate them through sound.

Weapons in Arena Breakout

  • Adjustments made to the weight of various melee weapons.
  • G18C pistol rate of fire lowered.
  • Adjustments made to camera shake amplitude when the F2000, VSS, AR-57, MDR, and MPX are being fired.
  • Dampened the horizontal recoil control of the F2000.
  • Gun shield for the RPK light machine gun.
  • Adjustments were made to movement speed while holding the M4A1, SVDS, VSS, Mk14, M110, and USAS-12.
  • Slight adjustments were made to the recoil from the first few shots fired with the MP5, MPX, FAL, M4A1, H416, and F2000.
  • Reduced the weight of certain Mk14 accessories.

Ammo in Arena Breakout

  • Adjustments were made to the recoil stabilization for the 7.62x39mm HP, 5.56x45mm 55 HP Hunting, 9x19mm Dumdum, 5.7x28mm R37.F, and 5.45x39mm HP ammo.
  • Adjustments made to the armor damage of the 7.62x39mm ammo.
  • Adjustments were made to the armor damage and recoil stabilization of the 7.62x51mm UN, BPZ, M80, and M62 ammo.

Equipment in Arena Breakout

  • Enhanced the damage reduction effects of high-tier armor (class IV, V, and VI) against frag grenades.
  • Adjustments made to armor protection capabilities: Higher-tier armor now offers better protection even when durability levels are low.
  • Reduced the sound-blocking effect of helmets.

Character movement in Arena Breakout

  • Stamina expenditure when moving uphill (including stairs) increased slightly.
  • Jump-and-shoot mechanic rework: lowered weapon stability for highly modified weapons when players jump and shoot.
  • Upper-body stamina is expended when firing with high-caliber weapons.

Sound prints and Sound Effects in Arena Breakout

  • Smaller soundprints are now refreshed at a longer interval.
  • Sound effects for when other players are firing now differ depending on whether they are firing indoors or outdoors.

Other Improvements and fixes in Arena Breakout

  • Fixed the actual rate of fire of the M16 3-round burst being lower than the ROF displayed, as well as the issue of overly slow movement speed when ADS is engaged.
  • Addressed many issues of characters getting stuck after falling, while standing, or in the prone position.
  • Error display in the map screen.
  • Fixed an issue where weapons or equipment wouldn't display in the storage interface during raids.
  • The issue of characters getting pushed off and eliminated after being "squeezed out" by object models or teammates.
  • The issue is that when a player throws a grenade with their right hand, it switches to the left, and in some scenarios, the grenade bounces back and causes damage to the player.
  • Fixed AI squads on Armory passing through the door at the extraction switch after flipping it.
  • The issue of the character flying upwards instead of landing when climbing over an object.
  • Various video display errors during kill cam.
  • AI units randomly fire when they are blinded.
  • Improvements made to trigger conditions for climbing/climbing over objects.
  • Improvements were made to the camera jitter motion at the end of sprints.
  • Improvements were made to the animation for when the character is sprinting with a melee weapon.
  • Improvements made to animation for switching to firearms during melee weapon inspection.
  • Grenade friendly-fire toggle: Players can now choose to "forgive" teammates who have caused damage to them by accident.
  • Friends from platforms limit raised to 500.
  • Improvements made to footstep sound effects for footsteps on rock, soil, and sand surfaces.
  • Improvements made to sound print display: Fixed the issue of abnormal sound print refresh intervals in some cases.
