Ubisoft’s official reveal for their latest title Assassin’s Creed: Unity came this past spring but a lot of info on the game had already been leaked much earlier so fans of the series already knew what to expect.

Now it has barely been a month since Unity released that the next entry in the franchise has already been leaked which is titled Assassin’s Creed: Victory. And it’s not just the name, but the setting and some assets as well that have been leaked.

Kotaku was the first to get the info from an anonymous source, just like when it leaked early info on Unity and Rogue. This time the story is set in Victorian London during the 19th century.

Assassin’s Creed Victory will be only available exclusively for the new gen consoles and PC, so last-gen consoles owner will be missing out yet again.

This time Ubisoft Quebec will be in charge of the game, which is a first for a game in the Assassins Creed franchise. However, Quebec is not totally unfamiliar with the game as they were also in charge of two major DLC’s for the franchise namely the Freedom Cry DLC for Assassin’s Creed III and Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag.

Previously Ubisoft Montreal was in charge of the big annual releases so this is a major shift for Ubisoft.

Ubisoft sent out the following response regarding the recent leak:

“It is always unfortunate when internal assets, not intended for public consumption, are leaked. And, while we certainly welcome anticipation for all of our upcoming titles, we’re disappointed for our fans, and our development team, that this conceptual asset is now public. The team in our Quebec studio has been hard at work on the particular game in question for the past few years, and we’re excited to officially unveil what the studio has been working on at a later date. In the meantime, our number one priority is enhancing the experience of Assassin’s Creed Unity for players.”

Unfortunate or not, fans of the series are definitely excited about the upcoming entry, while others who were disappointed with Unity and its multiple problems are hoping for something better.

Let’s hope Ubisoft Quebec can pull this off well as the franchise desperately needs it. Also be sure to check out our review for Assassin’s Creed: Unity.
