One of the most massive Multiplayer game of all times Elder Scrolls Online was released for Windows PC and Mac OSX earlier this year. This version of the exciting game for the consoles platform was slated to be released in December. Proud publishers of the game Bethesda have confirmed that the game is on schedule for release in December and with over 700,000 subscribers Bethesda considers it to be a worthwhile move to publish the game for console platform.
The Elder Scrolls Online released to rather lukewarm reviews and currently holds a score of 71 on review aggregator Metacritic. Gamers were apparently less enthusiastic, giving ESO a user rating of only 5.6. Thus suffering from a mixed reception, the game can redeem itself with the upcoming release. However one can hardly call The Elder Scrolls Online a failure judging by its massive sales. Few MMO games have managed to replicate the success of Blizzard’s genre-defining World of Warcraft, and none have managed to unseat WoW as the MMO titan.
Optimism spilled by Bethesda
Bethesda and Zenimax are surely glad to take whatever success that they can get with The Elder Scrolls Online. Even if that success has only been moderate so far, the studios are no doubt hoping that the PS4 and Xbox One version coming this December will help boost the game even further. We will hope that they remain succesful in sticking to the schedule and roll out a worthwhile game. An official date for the games release has not yet been announced.
