Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel - Review

borderlands the pre sequel review

The game Borderlands : The pre sequel has got more weird looking guns and irreverent humour spread throughout the game. The narrative is basically an origin story for the Handsome Jack who by the way is the villain in the game Borderlands 2. The game basically takes place between the first game and Borderlands 2 as well. However in this Pre Sequel Jack becomes like super evil on a strange land, which is set on Pandora's moon. Get a load of that!

Okay, so let me begin with how the game starts. The start is always the most important aspect in the gaming world as it sets the first impression in the eyes of the judgemental players. The game starts off as you would want it to. You are in a spaceship with the other four of you travelling gloriously this time; there is also an overfriendly robot helper, Claptrap to keep you amused all the while.

The main motive will be to fight your way to Jack but what you will not be expecting are the short cut scenes that takes you into the future where you will be tied to a post wondering how in the world did you get there!!

Now I wouldn't call Borderlands a type of game that requires much attention as you can get by the game with the help of a map and also you can shoot everything that moves and also, the story can be a bit dull at times.

Surprisingly there were a lot of Australians in the game, it's quite funny but it makes sense as that game was made by 2K Australia. But somehow Australians on a moon, that too of Pandora, did not really set a good vibe. No offence though.

As i said previously the real star of the game is Jack. In the previous sequel he was the most gleefully sadistic and effective villian as i would say after Kefka of Final fantasy. And just witnessing a hero become a maniac due to a 20 hour trek across Pandora's moon is worth every step.

Personally I found Jack to be Hilarious and as Ego- centric as ever. His dialogs and speech is for him to share and for us to laugh.

The new gearing options also give a blast to the game. Freezing enemies solid with cold-blast attacks and burning them into crisp with their laser class weapons feels great. To add on to this awesome feature like the Oz kits that keeps you breathing in space so that you can heal and recover your damages is truly spectacular.

Pre Sequel is also very generous with its loot. You will be able to gain alot of opportunities in interesting ways. Claptarp will basically waltzes into the middle of groups of enemies and decimate them exclusively by reloading and dying. This game just went up to the next level~

Claptrap is basically the mascot of the game. He is a compulsive reloader with a mild death wish ( just funny , I tell you )and so his boom traps skill tree seems to have been made just for me. I can rapidly reload and get a variety of big buffed weapons that have an explosive result, which as usual costs me my health and accuracy.

To add on to the awesomeness of the game, the new Stingray hovercraft that handles like a wet mop with a ceiling fan strapped to it is a great success.

Wilhelm's flying drone duo, Wolf and Saint stand out the most in the game as not only does one of them go on automated bombing runs against the nearby enemies, but the other hangs back to heal him as well.

Every one's skill are overfilled with abilities that reward specific play styles that include powerful but temporary effect, like the mini achievements that you unlock over and over again. However, there is something about the game that feels a bit off, don't know if its the accent but its more of a side-gun.

To Summarize in all, the game has an awesome gameplay and the heap of the marvellous guns and upgrades will leave you spending far too long of the time, just fussing over which combination to pick. But most of all you get to shoot people, and its fun to shoot people in the virtual world. The game is very entertaining on a whole.
