Total War: Rome 2 - Wrath of Sparta Expansion

Last we heard Creative Assembly and SEGA had announced the release date for the game of Total War series Total War :Attila (for more details click here) and now we have new scoop on the next big title of the Total War series Total War: Rome 2 - Wrath of Sparta Expansion which will be released for PC on December 16th .

This will be second expansion released for the game this year as in early 2014 Total War: Rome II’s last expansion, Hannibal at the Gates had come out , taking place during Rome's war with Carthage in the Second Punic War. Sega also recently released the game's Empire Edition, which brought together all the previously released material and featured an all-new campaign expansion called Imperator Augustus.

What to expect from this expansion

Set at the beginning of the Peloponnesian War - a historical conflict between the city-states of Sparta and Athens - the expansion takes players to ancient Greece in the year 432 B.C., several decades after the Greek wars with Persia made famous by the 300 series.

This is the farthest back in time the series has gone, and in this expansion, developer Creative Assembly has attempted to capture the details of the Greek world. Total War: Rome II -- Wrath of Sparta will have new tech trees, units for land and sea warfare, and will include popular Greek heroes. The expansion will also include cultural features like festivals and sports competitions.

With not much lined up for release in the month of December, the release of this eventful expansion might bring about the required thrill thus removing a kind of stand still that persists in the current scenario.
