Day 2 of the Rocket League World Championship

Day 2 of the Rocket League World Championship started off with the first winner's side Semifinal match between North America's last hope, Ghost Gaming, and the European Champions, Gale Force eSports. The two teams came out swinging with some early goals. Ghost tried to put up a good fight, but Gale Force blew them away with a 3-0 sweep, sending the best in Europe to tomorrow's winner side final and Ghost dropping to the losers side to fight for survival on Sunday.

The second semifinal saw a battle of Europe when Method took on Paris Saint Germain. Defense was on display in the series, where four of the five games were decided by shutouts. Method held off a PSG comeback attempt in Game 5 to win the series 3-2 and set up a rematch of the European Regional Final against Gale Force eSports on Sunday in the winners bracket final.

The losers side of the bracket started with NRG eSports against the Oceania Champions Chiefs ESC with the winner to face North American Champions Cloud 9 in the next round later in the evening and the loser will be the first team to be eliminated in the World Championship. The two teams went back and forth in the first four matches, entering the fifth game with the series tied at 2-2.

The Oceania Champions defeated NRG three games to two after a devastating 4-0 win in Game 5. NRG eSports become the first team to be eliminated from the World Championship. Chiefs ESC advances to the next round later that night against the North American Champions, Cloud 9.

The next losers side match brought together Pale Horse eSports from Oceania against Mockit eSports from Europe with the winner to face G2 eSports in the next round in the last match of the night. Mockit showed offensive power against their Oceanic opponents by blowing them out in each game, sweeping the best of five series 3-0 and earning a match against North America's G2 eSports in the final match of the day. Pale Horse are eliminated from the tournament.

The next set of loser side games start with Chiefs ESC, who defeated NRG earlier in the day, against North American Champions, Cloud 9, who was sent to the losers side by Pasris Saint Germain. Cloud 9 comes back from a 0-1 deficit to win 3-1, starting with a 4 minute overtime win in Game 2 and ending with a 8 second Overtime in Game 4. Cloud 9 will face Ghost Gaming on Sunday in the losers side Quarterfinals. Chiefs ESC have been eliminated from the tournament.

The final match of the night saw Europe's Mockit eSports, who defeated Pale Horse earlier, face off against G2 eSports, who was sent to the losers bracket by Gale Force. The winner of this match will face Paris Saint Germain in the next round on Sunday. Both teams went back and forth in the first four games of the series, tied 2-2. In Game 5 of the series, G2 held off a late surge from Mockit to win the game 4-2 and the series 3-2. G2 moves on to play Paris Saint Germain on Sunday.

The World Championship concludes Sunday.
