Eidos Montreal has launched a Deus Ex: Human Revolution prequel novella compiled by James Swallow, among the authors on the overall game and it’s somewhat of a less-well-received follow-up of The Autumn. Titled Deus Ex: Fallen Angel, it informs about the story of Faridah Malik in her own days before joining Sarif Industries since its chief pilot.
Malik was the VTOL jockey who hustled Adam Jensen all around the planet because he worked out Sarif business. The story is set in Hengsha prior to the events of Human Revolution. Throughout their first visit to the town, Malik demands Jensen’s help with looking into what she thinks may be the murder of her friend, Evelyn Carmichael. Carmichael features conspicuously within the novella, although because of the time period it’s nothing related to that specific mission.
The game is out in stores now,
