The Battlefield 4 developer DICE will no longer be working on a sequel to the series for 2014. Industry analyst Michael Pachter,EA confirmed the news to both investors and media on Friday.
As per IGN, there were rumours that suggested that the Battlefield franchise would move into a yearly release schedule, similar to Call of Duty. Pachter said: ” Although they have not yet announced a version of Battlefield for [fiscal year 2015], they confirmed that our understanding is spot on and that if a version of Battlefield were to be released in FY:15, it would be developed by a studio other than DICE.”
With two more titles to be released, DICE is facing a lot of problems on the issues related with the disruption of the Battlefield 4 server. An EA representative also said there is a hold on future projects while the issues related with DICE is resolved.
