Racism has always been a problem in Pro Dota2 scene. Days have changed, there was a time when if any team managed to beat a Chinese team they were respected and called “China Slayers” and now apparently players even have the audacity to taunt Chinese teams with racial comments.Get all the latest Dota 2 News only at Sportskeeda.Carlo “Kuku” Palad and Rolen Andrei Gabriel “Skemberlu” Ong caused an uproar in the Dota2 scene due to recent racist remarks. The teams claimed that they did punish the players but Chinese Dota2 community was not satisfied. After Burning stepped in Valve did publish their opinion on it but they did not put any kind of ban on the players since the players were already punished by the organizations. However, Chinese fans and community decided to take things in their hands. The Chinese community has always been known for their determination, discipline, and manners. It is pretty obvious they will not tolerate such behaviors but nobody even remotely guessed that the uproar can get so strong that it might ban players from attending the Major in China. Without Valve’s involvement, it is impossible to ban a player from playing a major or ban a player in general, at least by the books. But here the situation is totally different.David Parker aka “Godz” posted that rumors are saying both players might get banned by the Chinese government and they will not be allowed to enter China or take part in future events. So, rumor has it that the China organizers/govt involved in the Chongqing major are pushing a ban on Kuku and Skem from participating...Will be interesting to see if/how valve step in.— David Parker | Godz (@BTSGoDz) November 23, 2018Right after that Cyborgmatt posted, it has been confirmed that both players have been banned from any event in China. It's not a rumor. Skemberlu and Kuku are both banned from attending the Chongqing Major. Col and TNC were both contacted prior to the event and were asked if they wanted to kick the players. There is still a chance that this ban can be extended and block them from attending TI9.— Matthew Bailey (@Cyborgmatt) November 24, 2018After this, a different movement started in the Pro Dota2 scene. Apparently, China vs World scenario is not anymore an in-game scene. It is happening in real. While GrandGrant and Admiral Bulldog is being stubborn, Nahaz has a pretty good point.Nahaz said, “Individual tournament organizers cannot be allowed to ban players from DPC events. If there is another Major in the Philippines, do they get to ban Chinese players in retaliation? Valve absolutely must step in”, in his tweeter post.Individual tournament organizers cannot be allowed to ban players from DPC events. If there is another Major in the Philippines, do they get to ban Chinese players in retaliation? Valve absolutely must step in.— Nahaz (@NahazDota) November 24, 2018This is truly a very mature question. If Valve bans someone that is by the book and it has to be a mutual and a proper decision. But if individual tournament organizers start banning whoever they want by their own wish then there is no point of having a DPC because then any region will be able to ban any region and that is insanely stupid and dumb. With all due respect to the Chinese community, I do really think it is a Valve event and if Valve is not banning someone then no other organizer has the right to ban any player. In that case, Valve should probably move the venue to a more neutral ground. After a short tweeter chat, even Redeye decided to take a stand for Kuku and stand against the Chinese decision as he stated he is not going either.Redeye's Tweeter chatGrandGrant made it clear that if Kuku stays banned by some unauthorized tournament organizer who has nothing to do with Valve, then he is not casting any game.If kuku isn’t allowed to play at the major I refuse to cast officially for the major , we all make mistakes and 1 mistake should not forbid you from playing at a tournament that potentially decides your whole career— Grant Harris (@GranDGranT) December 2, 2018Admiral Bulldog joined him as he tweeted that he will never step into China for any Valve or non-Valve event if Kuku stays banned from the major.same :) i'm not going to any valve event thats in china unless the ban is lifted or dpc is removed. Including TI9. https://t.co/cI8BKuWryL— Henrik Ahnberg (@AdmiralBulldog) December 2, 2018Get the latest Video Game News at Sportskeeda.
