Dota 2 Miracle boy Amer "Miracle-" Barkawi will not attend the Chongqing Major. Miracle is not only one of the best mid-laners of recent time but also a pillar of current Team Liquid roster. Miracle has not released any statement yet, all we know is "he has some personal issues".
Former Player of Wings Gaming, The International 6 winner Shadow will stand-in for the TI7 winning mid-laner. According to Fox Sports Chinese community manager of Team Liquid posted on Weibo, "Miracle- does have some issues but we are working with Valve to try to solve it. We won’t release any official statement before we have a conclusion."
Later Team Liquid told Liquiddota.com that Miracle, "has a private and personal matter to take care of."
We've no idea what this personal matter can be but apparently, it is important enough and thus the absence. The team has declined to comment on the matter any further to protect their player's privacy.
Hours later Team Liquid finally posted an official statement on their Twitter regarding the issue which says,
"We would like to confirm that Miracle is unable to attend the Chongqing Major. He was excited to play; unfortunately, an urgent personal matter occurred at the last minute. We request that fans respect his privacy during this time, and we will provide updates when possible"
Shadow confirmed that the news is true and he will attend the Chongqing Major with Team Liquid and stand-in for Miracle-. He edited the title of his stream channel to "I will be back after playing for Liquid in the Major".
The rumours say, Miracle- can't attend the Major because of a Visa dispute. Apparently, the Polish government detained a Chinese employee in Poland for a Visa dispute which ruined the relationship between China and Poland. Even though Miracle- is from Jordan, he has a Polish Visa because his mother is Polish. If this is true, that will explain the very first statement from the Chinese community manager. However, no official statement has been released regarding this rumour.
After the drama with Phillipino players regarding the racist comments, now Chongqing Major is back in the headlines again as Miracle- will not attend the tournament.
