A person earning money playing video games would be a joke in the last decade, the obvious reason being that games were for fun and not considered as a serious career path. However, things have changed drastically in the last five to ten years. Gaming has become a source for earning money, the companies have poured in money and the eSports industry has been growing since.

Popular games like Counter-Strike, Dota and League Of Legends have become increasingly profitable for developers of these games and the gaming community in general. With more and more companies getting involved, more money has come into play in the eSports scene presently. Dota has been growing as a game with its users and players playing the game at a professional level.
