We all were hoping for the announcement of Arkane Studio's next big title. But what that game would be all about was expected by no one.

The recent rumours and listings seemed to point that Arkane Studios was hiring for an online service based game. This particular news disappointed many of the die-hard fans of the studio which is well known for immersive first-person sims with meticulously designed levels and freedom to play as you like.

Surprisingly enough Arkane Studio Lyon( One of the two branches of Arkane who previously worked on 2016's Prey) took the E3 stage and announced something similar to what we have learnt to love and expect from this studio.

Deathloop seems to throw us into the shoes of two rival assassins-Colt and Juliana stuck in an unending cycle on the frozen island of Blackreef; whose atmosphere and level design aligns very much to Dishonored 2's fictional city of Karnaca, which is a good thing.

Deathloop is promised to be as an immersive first person sim "with Arkane's signature style gameplay" and complex level design and the ability to play the game whatsoever way they like.

Both Colt and Julian seems to be polar opposite as one wants to end this never ending cycle while the other wants to protect the same, hence the only solution is to kill themselves. It seems as though the players will be given the freedom to choose the character they want to play as, similar to how things were in Dishonored 2.

The reveal trailer of the game also gave us a deep insight about how the combat of the game is going to work. The player can equip Shotguns, Sniper rifles, as well as use telekinetic abilities and many other which are yet to be revealed.

Deathloop currently doesn't have a release window and is most likely to release at the fall of 2020.
