What's the story?

The kits are available to download from he 7th to the 28th of November and can be availed by simply logging into Ultimate Team and downloading the kits.

In case you didn't know...

FIFA is not the only EA gaming platform with a Star Wars theme. EA's Battlefield 1 also features the Totokia War Club as a part of the Star Wars Battlefront 2 celebration pack. NBA Live 18 has also jumped on the bandwagon with movie-themed graphics and kits.

This move was announced by EA on their Twitter at midnight on the 7th of November and is available until the 28th of the month, although the kit can be kept and used permanently in the game.

Heart of the matter

FIFA 18 has two kits as a part of the Star Wars pack. The home kit is a Darth Vader-inspired jet black kit with a Star Wars motif on the front. The away kit is a Stormtrooper-inspired all-white design. Both kits also sport the red Inferno Squad emblem although the white kit has it high on the right, as opposed to the traditional left sided badges.

What's next?

The latest Star Wars release hits the theatres on the 17th of November and EA has suitably kept a wide enough window for all fans and converts to avail the kits online. Apart from the publicity gained by the Star Wars franchise and EA, there is a surprise winner from the EA gaming universe; Getafe midfielder Karim Yoda's card has been gaining traction in the FIFA 18 marketplace, giving the 71 rated midfielder his time in the spotlight.

Author's Take

FIFA 18 has reached out to the Star Wars sub-community within its legion of fans with its latest kit. The move may be a publicity stunt but its a well executed one and Star Wars fans will surely lap it up and use the kits for their Ultimate Team, long after the offer expires at the end of this month.
