Apex Legends is a game that has taken over the battle royale genre through its surprise reveal and launch. It offered a new way in which the battle royale genre can be portrayed. The game is more like a mixture of Overwatch, Fortnite Battle Royale and Call of Duty. The sci-fi strategic battle royale game received a positive response from Brendan. Brendan tweeted to Respawn Entertainment about their new game, he quoted:-
Really great job by the team @Respawn. A fantastic launch with a great new take on the battle royale game mode! GG WP <3
In response, Respawn Entertainment tweeted back to Brendan:-
We stand on the shoulders of giants. Thanks for paving the way!
Although with PUBG's competitor Fortnite Battle Royale this was not the case as the game was sued by Brendan and his team. Later on, the lawsuit was dropped out. This shows how the developers are now ready to accept battle royale games as a genre rather than just a game.
